  The process of making this music video was a long and difficult process. Now that it is finished, it feels as if a huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders. I feel like I have been putting pieces together and building it up for months. Putting the final touches on this weekend definitely relieved tons of stress I had. Since I did it alone, I feel like I had to discipline myself a lot to keep going and it got really tough. Most things I had never done before. I have barely used iMovie and I also am pretty new to editing. I dreaded this project all up until I got to film it and that part was fun because I had my best friend, Camille help me and she made me a lot less worried because she is very useful and extremely tech smart. It would have been so hard to do this without here so I am grateful she could help me. I learned how to split the song and use certain sections, I learned how to do certain cuts and transitions. It was stressing me out trying to figure out how to film by myself but when we got to filming it was easier than I thought it would be and I changed some things in my plan as I went. I planned everything out and even planned the time I was going to film. There was still some flaws in my plan and things I had to change but that is expected. Some of my clips don’t match my storyboard because I had to change them due to the way I was filming. For example, on my storyboard I had planned to film at school a couple times but then I felt weird filming at school. I ended up filming over the weekend anyways. I got my friend Camille to help me because initially my mom was going to but she went on a last minute trip when I wanted to film so luckily Camille helped me. It took me a week to film and edit everything because I didn't want to burn myself out doing it all in one day and also that never ends well doing stuff last minute. Over the thanksgiving break I was bored, so I took one day as a trial and error day. Since it was just practice, I did not do full costumes, makeup, and props. I basically made some rough drafts. I just spent some time looking at different aspects for the music video. I tried all different angles and perspectives for the camera. I had my mom try to film some clips, she is not very good with techy things such as this so I kind of knew I was going to end up filming some stuff myself. I am teaching her though, and she is getting the hang of it. I tried to film some clips by myself too and it worked out better than I thought. I would actually consider keeping some of them. I want the project to reach its full potential so I am going to try and perfect the clips, but I am keeping some of the better ones just incase. My mom's clips were even good, she gets really weird angles sometimes but I am glad that she is helping me out with this so I am not doing it completely alone. I spent a few...

 

 The song title is "Pursuit of happiness" by Kid Cudi featuring MGMT and Ratatat. One prop I am using is disco ball. In some of the scenes the girl is dancing around at a party with a disco ball and having fun with all of her friends. So that is why I am using the disco ball as a prop. In the party scenes the main character will be wearing sparkly and fun things that you would wear to a party, so party attire. All of her friends will be there dancing with her and she will be trying to distract herself from her sadness and everything she is dealing with at home. The overall vibe will be fun and happy. The party scene will be in a room with fun lights and decorated as if it was a real party. In the sad scenes the girl will be outside alone or in her room alone and the props will be "sleeping pills" which are just medication that I normally take but on the bottle it will say sleeping pills because in the sad scenes she has insomnia.  Considering I am not in a group, I have to make all of the decisions which is definitely challenging because I am really indecisive in general. Right now I am leaning toward an alternative song but I have so many ideas in my notes. All day I randomly think of ideas for this project. I’ve been holding off this blog for a while because i couldn’t choose a song and I kept trying to figure out what to do. Every song I thought of did not feel right. I went from Bruce Springsteen songs to Taylor Swift and I could not find the perfect fit. I was listening to every single playlist I ever made and still couldn’t think and then I heard “Pursuit of Happiness” and a bunch of ideas started flowing through my head.
