INTRO FINAL TASK

  Hi, I am Isabel D'Onofrio and I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School.  I took AICE Media Studies this year because I want to learn about film and understand what happens behind the scenes. When watching a movie I feel as if people limit their thoughts to only the actors and not what is happening around them. When I watch a movie, I am always curious as to how the crew and actors do certain things or get certain angles. I think about how they do stunts and special affects. I would like to have a deeper understanding on what is going on. I what to understand why the director chose a certain lighting or camera angle. I want to be able to feel and understand the film that I am watch in all aspects. I think that filming is another form of art. I would like to expand my creativity in new ways. experimenting of filming music video

Over the thanksgiving break I was bored, so I took one day as a trial and error day. Since it was just practice, I did not do full costumes, makeup, and props. I basically made some rough drafts. I just spent some time looking at different aspects for the music video. I tried all different angles and perspectives for the camera. I had my mom try to film some clips, she is not very good with techy things such as this so I kind of knew I was going to end up filming some stuff myself. I am teaching her though, and she is getting the hang of it. I tried to film some clips by myself too and it worked out better than I thought. I would actually consider keeping some of them. I want the project to reach its full potential so I am going to try and perfect the clips, but I am keeping some of the better ones just incase. My mom's clips were even good, she gets really weird angles sometimes but I am glad that she is helping me out with this so I am not doing it completely alone. I spent a few...

 I chose Thriller for my genre research. There is various elements used by a thriller movie director. This includes lighting, camera angles, makeup, acting, and so on. Usually, the director of this genre of film makes it suspenseful. This is demonstrated by the use of low-key lighting and the casting of large shadows. Camera movement, like lighting, is important for conveying the setting. Tracking, panning, and zooming are examples of camera movements in a thriller. These techniques are used to ensure that the audience knows as little as the actor in the film. This adds to the suspense of a thriller film. Terrorists can be subtle or frightening. A character may dress in "normal clothing" to deceive the audience into thinking they are the good cop and not the bad. They could, on the other hand, be dressed in ripped dark clothing with blood to create uncertainty or a horror effect. Makeup is also part of the actor's "costume."
